Genre-Based Instruction: Improving the Students’ Skill in Writing Descriptive Text

The objective of the study is to investigate improvement students' skills in writing descriptive text by using Genre-Based Approach seventh-grade students at MTs Daarul Muttaqien, South Tangerang. This a Classroom Action Research with VII grade consisting 22 as subjects study. main instrument employed collect data test supported observation and interview meet triangulation validity. result showed there an students’ text. It was shown from results where mean score: pre-test 59.95 only 22.7% who passed test. Then, it improved 73.23 for score post 1 that 59.1% them also occurred post-test II reaches 84.36 percentage 95.5% successfully did were active enthusiastic every step genre-based instruction offers.
